Email Link problem

  • Unknown's avatar

    I have a widget for contact information and I am having a slight problem with making an email address a link.

    I have a gmail email address and I would like to link it for people visiting my site to send me emails using whatever email they want. Using outlook would be more suitable i guess.

    How can I do that so that it redirects to outlook rather than gmail?The current code redirects users to gmail to send an email.

    Secondly, how can i make it open in a new window rather than the same page?

    The current code that i am using is:

    (email visible only to moderators and staff);

    Thanks

    The support documents address this very well at Email Links. Basically email links are discouraged because of spam, so you might want to se a contact corm, or write it out like me at URL dot com or use an image but they also give you the code for inserting a clickable link on a web page or in a text widget.

    Well done. I note that all 3 links are to empty free hosted WordPress.com blogs and suspect these bloggers may be WordPress.org bloggers.

    Actually, im making the web page for someone else.I already asked them before to use forms instead even though i did explain the reasons as I myself think forms are much safer.However, they insist on using the email address. The problem is, it kind of works and kind of doesnt. It goes to outlook when your using firefox, but when i used explorer, it gave me an error.Html is seriously messed up.
