Email links in comment boxes

I receive regular comments and sightings (birding website) from a standard comment form entered on to the site. This has stopped working. You can enter details and it appears to be sent but is never received at the other end.
I have tried to get around it by entering the email as a link ( I know it is not recommended) but can’t get that to work either.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I have got the email to work as a straight link now but the site comments box still won’t send comments through email.

Will you please confirm your email address in your Account Settings and in your Personal Settings under Users → Personal Settings?Then will you confirm this setting as well? > Dashboard > Settings > Discussion

Timethief, I think we are talking about different things. I may have misled slightly. The comments I am talking about are those entered in a contact box, either in a posts/page or a widget. I have tested it and it doesn’t even appear in the feedback section of the dashboard.
