email not updating

  i am trying to create a wordpress.com account for my site, maiaflow.com.

  tried to create it with my email (email visible only to moderators and staff). it was already registered for an old class i am no longer part of. i tried to change the email address to my old school address, clicked the confirmation link, but i still cant register a new wordpress.com account for my existing wordpress site maiaflow.com with (email visible only to moderators and staff)

  ideally i would like to delete my old wordpress account that i am writing from. but how long should i expect my (email visible only to moderators and staff) email to be locked up from creating a new account?

  Hi maianyu,

  How long has it been since you followed these steps? It is noted on the support page for changing accounts that:

  Note: It may take some time for our system to completely release your e-mail address for use with another account. Please be patient, but if the delay seems longer then normal, please contact support for further assistance.

  It could be that it just needs a bit more time to process. If it’s been more than a day or so though, you can tag this thread with ‘modlook’ to call a team member to come take a look.
