Do followers receive an email when I update a page ?
E.g. when I add an event to my page “upcoming events”
Or do they only receive an email when I make a new post or page ?

how can I solve this ?
followers subscribe to our blog so they know when (same example) we have a new gig.
but we announce this on a page “upcoming ervents” -
Pages are Pages and Posts are posts. Pages do not automatically update and have no RSS feeds.
1. Delete the static “Events” Page you created after your copy and paste the ext into a post(s).
2. Assign the Category “Events” to post(s).

http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/4. Add the dynamic automatically updating Events Category page to the custom menu.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/menus/#adding-category-pages-to-your-menu5. Every time you have another Events update publish a post with the Events Category assigned to it and it will appear on the dynamic Events page in the custom menu.
