Email Notification for Administrator
-
Hello,
I signed (email visible only to moderators and staff) up as an administrator to osciagrants.wordpress.com. Amber has clicked all of the necessary boxes in Settings/Discussion and is still not receiving any email notices when a comment is posted.
What could we be doing wrong?

Please read this support doc:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/
1 Notifications on a multi-user blog will be sent to the post author
2 If a new follower is logged out of WordPress.com, an email notification will not be sent to the blog admin email address

Thanks for sending those links. I have already viewed them and tried all of the suggestions. At the bottom it says to contact support if my other administrator still isn’t receiving notifications.

Thanks. It is showing that I am subscribed. I read elsewhere that if I change my email address in my personal settings to the email address I want to receive the notifications it should work.
I tried that but said that the email address for the other admin was already in use, so I deleted Amber as an admin, and tried to update my email address to hers again, and it is still saying her email address already exists and that I can’t add her email.

Please be patient while waiting for Staff help. To expedite their assistance provide all relevant username accounts please.

Hi cobisharpe,
Like timethief pointed out when there are multiple administrators on a blog, the notifications for comments will only go to the page/post author. Looking at your site, it appears you were the author for all the sites’ pages, so it would be expected behavior that only you would receive notifications.
If you wish for Amber to be notified for future comments on those pages, my recommendation would be to use the Quick Edit on your Pages to make Amber’s username the listed author for all pages. This means that all future comments will appear in their notifications instead of yours.
I read elsewhere that if I change my email address in my personal settings to the email address I want to receive the notifications it should work.
This is true, but you should not use an email address that you do not have access to on your WordPress.com account. We use an email address as a unique identifier for each user, so it should be treated carefully, almost like your social security number.
I tried that but said that the email address for the other admin was already in use, so I deleted Amber as an admin, and tried to update my email address to hers again, and it is still saying her email address already exists and that I can’t add her email.
The notice saying it’s in use is not just particular to your site, but that’s its in use for another username on WordPress.com. No two usernames on WordPress.com are allowed to use the same email, for the reason explained above.
