email notification of post

    I would like my email notification to subscribers that there is a new post on my site to just give a couple of sentences then say read more… when they click read more I want it to take them to my site to finish reading.

    Hi,

    When someone follows a WordPress blog, he/she gets the new post notification through email as well. However, I don’t think there is any way to customize the content of the email notification.

    I am adding modlook tag so that this thread gets notified to the staff. They can further throw some light on this.

    Hi there,

    I see your site is a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software. Are you using the Jetpack email subscriptions feature, or something else? As far as I know, Jetpack will respect the feed settings for your site which can be configured under Settings ->Reading in the WP-Admin dashboard. Set the feed setting to Summary.

    If you’re using a different email subscription plugin, you’ll need to ask the developer of that plugin how to do it. We can only help with WordPress.com sites, and to a limited extent the Jetpack plugin, in this forum.
