Email notification to followers of a private site

  I have made a private site to inform friends and family about my daughter’s cancer journey. How can I make sure the followers get an email when I add a new post to this private site?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The blog is not sublimedays.com as shown above. It’s a private site with another url.

  In WP Admin I’ve added all the followers email addresses to the Email Post Changes page and saved it. The addresses show in the list, but no one is receiving an email notification.

  Hi,

  I believe I’ve found the site you’re referring to, and currently, on that site, I don’t see any registered viewers. You can find that list under Users -> All Users. Can you try inviting these individuals via the steps listed here?

  Once they’re added as viewers on your private blog, you’ll want to have them subscribe to receive updates. You can set this up by adding the Follow Blog widgets to your sidebar:

  Then, when the new viewers visit your site, they can click “Follow” on that widget to receive updates. Can you give that a try?

  Hi Jeremey, thanks so much for you quick reply. The site does have about 40 viewers listed so I think you might have gotten into another site of mine. (Look for the name Olivia in the blog title and url.)
  I’ll try what you suggest – adding a follow button – thanks. Then I guess I’ll email them all myself and suggest they click on the follow.
  I’d much prefer that I just get the email feature to work than to trouble them. There are many levels of “technical” expertise in this varied viewing group.
  Can you please send me all instructions for using the WP Admin feature “Email Post Changes” page. Thanks.

  Hi!

  I’m going to go ahead and move this to private email so we can reference the website in question. I think that will make troubleshooting this much easier!
