Email Notifications

I used to get an email notification whenever someone would:
like my blog post/comment
follow my blog
Now ever since I changed my settings for GDPR I no longer receive these emails. It shows in my settings that I have email notifications turned on so I can’t understand why I’m not getting these emails. Yes before you ask, I’ve cleared my cache.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi @meghanmmurphy, can you tell us which blogs you are not getting notifications from and we can take a look. The GDPR settings should not have any affect on that.

Also, check your spam folder at your email service provider to make sure they aren’t getting caught in there.

Hello, it’s the meghanmblog that is having issues with email. I have checked my spam folders, I have checked all folders in my inbox and there is nothing in them.

I’ve double checked and can see that the emails are going out, and that your server is accepting them. Is there a bulk folder perhaps?
Would you be willing to test a different email address, with another provider?

I’ll check to see if there are any mystery folders I don’t know about.
I already changed emails. I started with my gmail that I set up for that blog and switched to my yahoo to see if that was the problem but nothing’s changed. -
If you were using gmail before, try this search:
in:all wordpress.com
That should show the email even if it got trashed or spam.

I did this search but it didn’t bring up any emails that I haven’t already seen. This doesn’t explain why with yahoo I was having the same issue.

On which site? The discussion settings for meghanmblogs.wordpress.com shows Like notifications are disabled:

Same on your other site:
https://wordpress.com/settings/discussion/meghanmmurphy.wordpress.com
According to the first site’s activity log you changed that on 26 May:
https://wordpress.com/stats/activity/meghanmblogs.wordpress.com
I don’t see an entry in the logs for when you changed it on the other site.

That’s so weird because I don’t remember turning those off!
Thank you for letting me know and finding this section; I believe that once I change the settings my emails will go back to normal.

For what it’s worth, my settings have always been for me to receive email notification of Likes, and I’ve never gotten such notification. I just assumed that the option didn’t work.

@windwhistle, if you have like notifications enabled but you’re not getting them, that means something is not working. Please create a new thread and include a link to the site involved, along with details on exactly where you have email notifications for Likes showing as enabled, and we can take a look.
