How do I stop my blog from sending an email to people who are subscribed when a new article is posted?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there! Once someone has subscribed to a public blog, all new posts will be sent to them, in the manner they set up their subscription preferences. Users can opt how they’ll receive notifications of your posts (either via email, or in their preferred Reader). If individual users no longer wish to receive email notifications, they can unsubscribe to your site.

Because your site is public, you cannot block email notifications from being sent to your subscribers.

If you choose to make your site Private (which would render it password-protected), the email notifications would not be sent. However, this option has other ramifications which can be viewed here:

You can opt to keep your blog public, but create private or protected blog posts. These will not be sent via email to your subscribers. You can read more about Post Visibility here:
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/post-visibility/

Finally, you can opt to display a summary-only in your subscriber’s notifications. While this doesn’t stop anyone from receiving notifications of new posts, you can have them click a link on a post-summary which takes them to your site to read the entire text:

(Scroll down until you see “For each article in a feed you can select Full text or Summary.”)

Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks much.
