Email notifications
-
I’ve checked all of these forums and thus far nothing I’ve read has solved my problems. I am not getting any email notifications.
I’ve gone to settings–> general. The email address there is correct.
I’ve navigated to settings–> discussion and checked all of the boxes that state “email me whenever”….
I’ve navigated to users –> all users and checked my administrator profile. That email address is also correct.
I do not receive emails for:
* new blog followers / subscribers
* blog comments or likes
* new blog likes
* when somebody submits through the contact formI tried changing my email address. This did not work. I’ve check my spam folders and still nothing. Does anyone have any idea why this could be happening. It began once I migrated from the free .org to the paid .com site.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m seeing in our logs that we are sending email to your (email visible only to moderators and staff) address (hope that is still clear enough for you to recognize it). So it is getting lost somewhere.
I see that you changed from a gmail account to the one above recently. When you were using gmail, did you check the “social” tab? For some reason, gmail likes to stick email from WordPress.com there.

Thanks for the reply.
I just changed my email address to see if it was something with gmail. I always received emails before through my gmail from my old free WordPress hosted site. However, since I converted to a self hosted site. No emails are received this has been a few months now. I checked my gmail spam and all other ridiculous gmail tabbed mail folders they have. No emails were never found. That’s is why I tried the new email address. Again, nothing. So if WordPress is sending where are they going? Is it a plugin or theme problem? I’m having other issues and am beginning to think it as the Sesimic theme or a plugin.

Who are you using for your email provider for that (email visible only to moderators and staff) address? You might reach out to them and explain the issue. As I say, our logs show the email being sent. So somewhere between here and your inbox, it’s getting lost.

I’ve contacted my web host provider, inMotion, and they said the problem is here.
I’ve had this problem with my Yahoo, Gmail and now site hosted email address. Emails to each fails to go through. So how is this limited to one? Are there any other possible solutions?

So, your site appears to be down. This may be part of the issue. At the very least, it is causing issues testing.
Can you let me know when it is back up again?
-
Please don’t tell me that!!!
I just checked and its working on my end through multiple computers.
-
Seems to be back up now. So it must have been a temporary thing. Was a database error this morning.
-
So, just out of curiosity, is the email address you have on your wp install the same one that we are talking about here?
-
Well yes, but to be clear this problem is with several different emails, not just the current. I’ve tried to remedy the situation by using several different email addresses. This issue occurred with all addresses I’ve tried, including this current for my wp install.

I see Jeremy is helping you via email as well. Why don’t you continue your replies with him. It is easier to discuss private information (email addresses etc) via that contact method than it is via the support forum.
