email notifications coming from strange address

    Every time I try to post this, it takes me to a page where it says my post wsa posted 42 years ago!!! And comments and topic are closed. WTH is going on??? Here’s my question:

    I receive an email for every comment made on my blog. Today for the first time, I received some comments in the form of an email from the commenter himself, but when I double clicked his name, I saw his email said:”(email visible only to moderators and staff)”.

    Usually the comments come to my inbox with the sender as “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”.

    Why are this commenter’s comments coming to me as if they are sent from his own email account? As I said above, his email address is not his own address but the “(email visible only to moderators and staff)” as I mentioned above. Does this mean the commenter is a WordPress worker who is abusing his account? Or is it a glitch?

    I will send you the commenter’s name and email if you ask, but I don’t want to write it publicly here.

    There are two types of comment notifications:

    1. A plain text email with the comment’s email address. This is sent to you if you are the blog owner and chose to be notified of new comments.

    2. An HTML email with (email visible only to moderators and staff) as the email address. This is sent to you if you chose to subscribe to the particular comment thread. In this case, there will be an Unsubscribe link at the bottom of the email.
