Email notifications for comments are not working

    I have set it in settings -> discussion such that it would email me whenever ‘Anyone posts a comment’ and whenever ‘A comment is held for moderation.’
    I do have the right email address in settings -> general.
    Yes, I have checked the spam folder but there is nothing there.
    Yes, I have also tried changing emails and notification settings back and forth several times, resaved several times and doesn’t work.
    However, I do get the notifications for New user registration or password changes.
    It did work until April 4th but it stopped working somewhere between this date and April 28th.
    I tried using a separate plugin that would do this such as ‘Comment Notifier’ and ‘cbnet Multi Author Comment Notification’ but they don’t email me anything at all so I am starting to think there is something wrong with my phps?
    Or could any other plug-ins be interfering with comment notification system?
    I mean it used to work now it doesn’t.. My blog management relies so much on this notification system.
    If anybody could help me or guide me towards the right direction, I will thank you a ton in advance.
