  Whenever an email notification is sent out to the subscribers of my blog, they receive a standard email, starting with the word ‘Howdy’.

  If possible I would like to change this a greeting which I feel is more suitable for my blog – how could I go about changing the text on this blog?

  Hi. Go to Settings > Reading > Invitation Text. That is probably the text you are referring to and that is the only part you can edit.
