email notifications to viewers on a private blog
-
I have added the follow widget on the homepage of my private blog which states that if your click follow you will be notified by email of new posts, and have numerous people ‘following’. However, I have had a few queries from some people who are following stating that they do not receive any emails to notify them when a new post has been added. Is there any way that viewers can opt to receive email notifications when a post has been made? As from other forums i am led to believe that this can not be done on a private blog.. Is this true?

I’ll tag this thread for Staff assistance. Will you please provide a couple of usernames for those WordPress.com bloggers who did not receive the emails as well as a couple of email addresses for those who do not have WordPress.com accounts? The software will redact ie. HIDE the email addresses so only Staff can see them. After you do that subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Hi there,
Every follower can set their own notification and delivery settings at
http://wordpress.com/#!/read/edit/
and
https://wordpress.com/?ssl=forced#!/settings/subs-delivery/
Please check with them to see if they have the correct settings in order to receive notifications.
If they are email subscribers, they can check their settings here:
