email on comments

I added a comment on my blog, just to test out the feature but now it is on the site whether I am logged in or not. How do I get rid of this?

My email address and name are still on the site – does this only happen if I add a comment, email addresses are not supposed to be published on the comments.

also you will see “my comments” those are comments you left other peoples blogs and you can’t delete those comments you will have to contact the blog owner for those comments to be deleted

It is not the comments I want deleting just the email address associated with the comment.

if your blog is not a wordpress.com blog which it apears its not you will have goto http://wordpress.org/support/

I still have my email etc on the comment. Is this just ‘cos I am on my own computer. Can anyone else see this, just wondered what happens when someone else adds a comment, will their email address be visible to all? I am using Safari 3.1 on a Mac Powerbook.

Just looked on the site using Firefox and all seems well, emptied cache on Safari but still have same problem. Will check on a windows computer tomorrow. Thanks for all your comments.

i’m using windows IE7 and I see now email in comment just in the post were your asking

Thanks I use iWeb and put the code in an iframe – copied the code supplied by someone else and tweaked the settings. All seems well with my wordpress blog now I have reset Safari.

Question: Say you post a comment and you have the email add: “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”….. Later you change your email to “(email visible only to moderators and staff)”and you post another comment somewhere else and the new email will appear right? What about on the first comment…. which email is going to show… Will it still be the old one or will it automatically change to the old one…? (I am guessing that it would stay however it was as this seems to be how WordPress works in a few other ways but I just wanted to double check…. )

The first comment will have the first email. It will not automatically change.
FYI: most threads marked “resolved” don’t get looked at again.
