Email post notification shows sender as a blog that is not mine

  About a month ago, I noticed that WordPress notification emails for new themes, etc. arrived in my email box with sender listed as Tom Minter’s Off the Stoop Blog. I know the person who runs the blog and I subscribed to it — just unsubscribed today because of this problem. Then today, I see that my email post notifications show the sender as the same. I cannot figure out how this happened and have no idea where to start. Please help — I don’t want to confuse my subscribers. Thanks in advance.

  This is something that is probably configured in your email client. Please check your address book, find (email visible only to moderators and staff), support@wordpress.com, etc. and see if they are associated with a specific name – and update it as desired.

  This does not impact your subscribers, however, depending on how they have set up their own email clients, they might need to do the same, changing the display name for @wordpress.com emails.
