email posts not going to pending!
-
I am trying to set up a blog so a child who is away from school can email in posts and they go to pending rather than publish. I have managed to set up the email facility but all my test emails automatically post. I have tried using [status pending] in the body of the email as well as the subject line. Now at my whit’s end. Please help me.

It sounds like you have found the instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-by-email/
One shortcoming I can see with your plan is the person sending the email forgets the short code and the email is published without review
I have some friends that have retired and traveling and I Admin their blog for them so their friends can keep up without having massive emails looping around – they are still a bit nervous with their 3 year old blog so they email me the Post & pictures and I post it for them – I could just forward on the email to their blog if I wanted, but I pick the featured image for the lead in the Post and place the More Tag at the proper spot.
You might think about that as a goof proof way to double check the Posts, I also have the Comments set to require Moderation.
Only takes a couple of minutes per Post unless you do the extra fine tune that I do

Hi there, could you please give me a link to a post where you’ve tried this so I can have a look?
How old is the child using this feature? As timehief mentioned, to meet our Terms of Service, users on WordPress.com must be at least 13 years old.
