email posts to followers

  hi, just imported from posterous. On that platform each post was emailed out to a list of followers: how can I set this up on wordpress (hopefully without them having to register!) there would be no more than 50 adresses. I had a password protected private blog to keep in touch with family and friends once every 2-3 weeks while travelling. Cheers, Keith.

  Since your blog is private I’m afraid that yes, they’ll each have to register with WordPress.com in order to read the blog. Otherwise there’s no way of verifying the readers. If you put the Subscription widget in the sidebar I believe they can subscribe and get the blog as email posts, but first you have to Invite them to the blog.

  Thanks for the quick response.
  They won’t want to view the blog. (those who do will register) they just want an email of the latest post. they won’t need to be verified because they would be on a list of users that I control.
  But from what you say, this is maybe not the right platform for me.
