email question when upgrading

    Hi, Okay, I am thinking about upgrading to wordpress.com. My domain name is currently mistermoe.net. It is handled by network solutions; I am using it with wordpress. org.. If I do this, and repoint my dns stuff to wordpress, what about my email? It’s just fine now and I don’t want to take the chance of screwing up my mail. What do you think? Many thanks!

    Hey there!

    Just to clear up a bit of confusion:

    Your domain name (mistermoe.net) is linked to a WordPress.COM site (bgauvreau.wordpress.com).

    If you’d like to use it for a WordPress.ORG site — which means you would not be housing your site on our server — you’d set up your email with network solutions and your new webhost.

    You wouldn’t use the settings here because your domain would no longer be “pointing” to WordPress.com. It’d be pointing to your new server. Therefore, you’d need new settings.
