Email sent everytime I publish a post

  • Unknown's avatar

    hi there,

    1. I don’t want an automatic email to be sent out everytime I publish a post. this is the case now and I would like to change it.
The email is sent by SpecificFeeds and I would like to uninstall it but don’t know where to find the application.

    2. I have uploaded MailChimp and would love to send out weekly emails to my subscriber base – based on the language the post is written in.

please help with the number 1. I feel like I am spamming my English subscriber base whenever I write a post in Slovak.

    Thanks in advance, Veronika

hi there, the website is http://www.matovevehavegonemad.com

thank you very much for your help in advance, Veronika

  • Hi – It sounds as simple as disabling email follower options from your site.

With that said, I need to point out, that your site was registered through Fast Domain and is currently hosted at BlueHost. This means that you’re using the WordPress installation, known as WordPress.org rather than WordPress.com (here).

That can be confusing, I know. More details are in this guide outlining those differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

    hi liz, thanks for that.

I want people to be able to follow my blog but only receive updates once per week.
I have installed mailchimp plugin and want to send out the updates through them.

is there any way to get rid of the speciffeeds ? Is it a plugin or automatic function of wordpress?

    Please help,
    Veronika

  • Hi Veronika,

Your site, matovevehavegonemad.com, is not hosted on our servers so we have no control over what emails that site send out. The only emails we have control over are the ones sent by Jetpack, and you don’t determine when those emails go out; your site’s subscribers do. The frequency of WordPress.com/Jetpack emails are controlled by subscribers, not by site owners, and if you don’t want that to be the case you’ll need to disable the subscription module in Jetpack as explained here:

    Jetpack

We have no product called “Specific Feeds”, so if you have that on your site it must a plugin you installed, and only you can uninstall it. We have no access to your site’s dashboard, so we cannot help with that.

For help with the WordPress software used to build your site, please post in the WordPress.org forums as staff-zinnia indicated above, and for help with specific plugins contact the authors of those plugins directly, either via the plugin page on WordPress.org, or via the support link on the site where you purchased/downloaded a particular plugin.
