Dear Sir/Madam,
I have the following blog with you: techsolvr.wordpress.com
I have registered a domain name with register.com, namely techsolvr.com and i have updated the DNS settings with my registrar.Do i need to update anything with regards to my email @techsòlvr.com ? currently i am using the basic email setup with register.com
Blog url: http://techsolvr.wordpress.com/ -
Yes, you’ll want to get your MX records from register.com and add them to your custom
DNS panel for the domain under Settings->Domains in your dashboard..You’ll find detailed instructions on how to do that here:

Thanks yoavf. I already have these from register.com
In CNAME (Alias):
mail.techsolvr.com points to webmail.register.comIn MX:
techsolvr.com points to mxmail.register.com
Priority: HighBut i don’t think they’re enough. I am chatting with their support rep right now to see how to complete this task.
Cheer,
-
I see that you were able to add those custom DNS records to your site. Were you able to get everything sorted?
-
Hi Erica,
Well i did add the custome DNS records. Now i have to wait for 12-24 hours for the settings to propagate and see if all works well. But apparently the records were OK because the system accepted them after a couple of trials and errors from my side. Let’s see tomorrow (fingers crossed).
Thanks for the support!PS: what does a “Happiness Engineer” mean?
-
Excellent, I’m glad it worked out!
Happiness Engineer is what we call customer service around here, since it’s our job to engineer happiness. :)
-
Well macmanx… that title is freggin genius. And with such prompt support and reply from you guyz out there, consider me as one additional happy customer to be added to your presumably long list of other happy customers.
Cheers!

Hi again everyone.
Quick question
if the CNAME entry required should be : CNAME <subdomain> <host>
and mail.techsolvr.com is pointing to mymail5.myregisteredsite.com
Then my entry should be : CNAME mail mymail5.myregisteredsite.com.
is that correct? -
Howdy,
Yes — that looks correct to me. :-)
If it doesn’t work after 24 hours, you might contact your mail provider to ensure that “mymail5.myregisteredsite.com” is the correct server.
Feel free to drop us a line if we can be of any further assistance!
