Email sharing setting

  Greetings,
  I have “email” set up as one of the content sharing options (e.g., share on Twitter, Facebook, email, etc.)

  This function does not appear to be working. I’ve tried sharing blog posts to several different email addresses, and although the blog interface tells me that these posts have been shared via email, they do not arrive in the mailbox of the intended recipient. (They are also not being caught by spam filters… already checked.)

  Advice?

  Hi there,

  I just tested the Share via Email button on your blog, and I received the blog post that I sent from there, so it appears to be working. It’s possible that something is causing problems for the specific email addresses you tried sending the post to.

  Can you send me some of the email addresses you tried sharing the blog posts to? For privacy, the email addresses will be redacted from the public forums, but staff will be able to see them. I can use that to look up the emails in our system and try to see what happened here.

  Yes, it’s working for me now, too, EXCEPT that I’m not receiving the share via my personal email (email visible only to moderators and staff), which is strange. Other email addresses seem to be working. Any thoughts there?

  I’m glad it’s working for you! I checked that email address you gave me, and it looks like it’s linked to another WordPress.com account. That account has blocked emails from WordPress.com, which is why the email isn’t coming through.

  If you’d like to unblock WordPress.com emails for that address, you can log in to that account and go to your account settings here: https://en.wordpress.com/settings/subs-delivery/

  Next to Block Emails, uncheck the box next to “Block all email updates from blogs you’re following on WordPress.com.” Be sure to click Save Changes when you’re done.

  Ah, that makes sense, I guess. I’ve got another account ready to go for a second blog… haven’t gotten to it yet. I’ll take care of it!
