Email Spam

  I just want to comment on something. I checked my email Spam box, and found that there were some spam emails addressed to me in a way that indicates they may have gotten my address from wordpress. Has anyone tracked this to see if maybe the privacy settings aren’t airtight or if an advertiser has been able to hack it recently? (The spam was an add for a pink iPad from some sort of “tester”)

  Hi! Your email address is kept private and is not displayed in any public way that spam bots could take advantage of. If you’re receiving more spam it would not be due to signing up for WordPress.com.

  Unfortunately email spam is a nuisance and a reality. If you use an email provider like Gmail, though, almost all of your spam will be filtered out of your inbox.
