How can i add a form for people to subscribe to the email list so they receive notifications for lets say new blog posts.
In the widget I can add the follow component, but when I test it and register myself I don’t get an email when a new article is released. In fact my test account gets added to the overall blog followers and is not added to the email followers lists.
How can i add a form thats add people to this email followers list?

When a user follows a blog doesn’t necessarily mean that they will receive email notifications when you post new content; this is their choice. Some people accidentally disable this option, and some people don’t want all of the emails. Be aware that some users following your blog will have a WordPress account and some users will only follow by email, these users are in separate sections within your followers list, see more below.
Take a quick look at the My Followers support page to learn more. Make sure to review the Troubleshooting section at the bottom as well.
When someone follows your site, each time you publish new content on your blog they receive an update in their Reader, via email, or both depending on their settings.
