Email subscription by category?

  I’m setting up a blog combining 5 currently separate blogs, with each blogger posting in a different category in the new blog.

  Is there any way that readers can subscribe by email to be sent posts just from one category, or do they have to receive emails whenever posts are made in any category?

  I’m currently using Feedburner for emailing readers of my blog, though other bloggers are using the standard WordPress email service. I could convert us all to separate Feedburner emails (using RSS by category -> email) but Feedburner looks like it may be on its way out, and I don’t want to lock us into a service which we’ll need to change soon.
