Email subscription by category

    This is a plea to WordPress to let our readers subscribe by email to a specific category on our blog.

    We combined 4 related blogs into one multi-author blog, using different categories, which has worked well. However, we’ve had some unhappy readers who want to be alerted by email to new posts – but only in the category that interests them.

    Luckily, I’ve kept an old Feedburner email subscription service going for one of the categories, but given Google’s track record in closing down services at short notice, I’d really love WordPress to come up with an alternative before Feedburner falls over.

    (And yes, I’d love more of our readers to start using RSS feeds, but that’s an uphill struggle, particularly given the end of Google Reader and iGoogle)
