Email subscription for my blog not working

    I am trying to test by subscribing myself with a different email. Nothing happens. I do not even get the email to my inbox to verify that I want to sign up. Any ideas?

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    Is this using the Jetpack subscription box that appears in your site’s sidebar?

    Can you tell us the email address you used to test? Then we can check if the email was sent from our end. Type the email on its own line, and only support staff will be able to see it.

    Were you logged into this WordPress.com account when you tried to subscribe? If you were, perhaps also try again while logged out, or by loading your site in an incognito/private browser window and see if that makes any difference.

    Hello!

    Yes, this is the Jetpack subscription box in the sidebar.
    I was not logged in when I tried it.

    email address I used was
    (email visible only to moderators and staff)

    I also wonder if anyone else tried to sign up and got sidelined somewhere :)

    Are you referring to https://theuncommonguides.com/ ?

    If so, that email address already subscribed to it 8 years ago.

    Were you referring to a different site?

    Yes I’m referring to https://theuncommonguides.com/

    The email address in question does not show up on my list of subscribers. That’s why I wanted to add it. And when it didn’t send me a response, I became concerned that the subscribe function is not working. What would be the best way to test it?

    Since the email address is tied to a WordPress.com account, it will actually show up under your Followers at https://wordpress.com/people rather than your Email Followers.

    Think of it this way, a WordPress.com account is following via the WordPress.com Reader, and the WordPress.com Reader is what has the option to send via email address.

    it’s essentially a different type of subscription, but with the same result.

    Thanks for that clear explanation. I do see my name under Followers.

    I want to be receiving e-mail notification of my posts when they go live. What would be the best way to do that?

    If you visit https://wordpress.com/following/manage and hit the Settings button to the right of the desired site, you’ll be able to toggle on “Email me new posts.”
