email subscription issues

    1. When I publish a new post, often (but not always) it does not go out to my email subscribers.

    2. I have tried to subscribe to my own blog from multiple email addresses in order to test what’s going on in #1, but am unable to do so. In every case, I get an error message like ‘Your subscription did not succeed, please try again with a valid email address’ or that I have a pending activation but that a new link will be sent and then when I click on that link, I get an error message that my subscription could not be activated.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • 1. Are you sure that these subscribers are signed up for email notification. Users with WordPress.com accounts can check that here: https://wordpress.com/following/edit

Are the notifications ending up in their spam or “social” folders? Do some users always get the emails and some always do not? Or is is that sometimes nobody gets the emails?

    2. What is the email address you are trying to subscribe with?

    I have solved #2.

My wife and I are subscribed to my blog under six email addresses. Starting about three weeks ago, I noticed that posts would arrive a none or only some of them. We do not have spam filters enabled on any of these accounts (I’m an IT professional and would know if they were).

Sometimes, I have been able to get my posts out by publishing them a second time (after which I trash the duplicate on the site itself). Last night, I published a post with the title “03.16.16 Chris Matthews’s unethical fundraising for Kathleen Matthews (and Clinton ties, too)” and it didn’t arrive at any of our email addresses. Today I republished it under the title “Chris Matthews’s unethical fundraising for Kathleen Matthews (and Clinton ties, too)” and it arrived at three of our six addresses.
