Email subscriptions to WordPress blog

  user complains Email subscription not working

  It may be related to emails going to spam account. I was asked, “Can you help to provide the SMTP logs for investigation?”

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi Gail,

  Can you please clarify exactly what’s going on? The answers to these questions would be very helpful:

  • Can you tell me which emails this user is not receiving?
  • Is this user a WordPress.com user?
  • Is this user an email follower of your blog?
  • If yes – is this user not receiving email notifications of your published posts?
  • Is the user receiving emails, but just showing up in the Spam folder?

  Once I get more details about the situation I’d be better able to help you and this user.

  I am dealing with an intermediary, which is why it is taking a while to get back to you. The reader with a problem lives on the island of Bali.

  What the intermediary told me is

  Can you tell me which emails this user is not receiving?
  (email visible only to moderators and staff) (Actually (email visible only to moderators and staff))

  Is this user a WordPress.com user?
  No

  Is this user an email follower of your blog?
  Yes

  If yes – is this user not receiving email notifications of your published posts?
  No

  Is the user receiving emails, but just showing up in the Spam folder?
  Not in spam folder, can’t receive all the mails, checked email server log, no records from *@bounces.wp.com

  I have been corresponding with the individual. I don’t think he really signed up for e-mail notification–just thought that he did. He now has signed up for e-mail notification. He doesn’t show up yet in my list of subscribers, but I presume there is a time lag involved in that.

  I will let you know if he still has problems. I plan to send out another post later today or tomorrow.
