Email that blog subscribers receive

  Is it possible to customize the email that subscribers receive when we post a new story to the blog? If so, how do we go about accomplishing this? We also want the email subscribers receive when a story has been posted to the blog to come from the College not from WordPress. Is it possible to do this with our blog hosted on WordPress.com? Or, does the blog have to be hosted on another third party server to accomplish these things?

  We also are having problems with tagging. Although we include tags, we cannot always search for those tags in the search function on the blog unless that tag is in the headline or we put it in white text somewhere in the body of the story. For example, we use news release as a tag for every story that also is sent out as a new release. But if news release is not in the headline or body of the story, it does not show up in the search. What can we do to change this?
