email to subscribers format

  Hi, when i publish new posts my subscribers get an automatic email in which they can read the *entire * post. I’d like to change that so that they’ll only see the beginning of the post and have to click on ‘read more’ button or something like that which will take them to the blog page and open a new window. How do i do that?

  Hi there,

  There are a few ways on doing that and some of the options are theme dependand (like the excerpt option):

  – On the post itself add the Read More tag and then in the email your subscribers will only get the content until the Read More tag.

  – Using Excerpts or summmaries , you can customize the text you show to your subscribers, how to do that is over here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/excerpts/

  – Found a third way in an older forum post, by going to wp-admin section of your website to Reading Options – in the Settings menu (https://YOURSITEHERE/wp-admin/options-reading.php) and next to the option For each article in a feed, show select Summary.
