Email Verification Not Working

  WordPress.com has a banner asking me to verify my email address. Clicking to resent the activation email does send an email. Clicking the link takes me to a page that claims ‘Your WordPress.com account has been activated!’. I’ve been through this several times over several weeks and the banner does not go away.
