Emailing someone my site stats

  I have been asked via email to send my site stats for a company to see how much traffic I am getting, as I want to review their product and they want to see that information

  Why on earth would you do that? I wouldn’t.
  1. You can’t post any paid or sponsored content on a free hosted WordPress.com blog without violating the ToS and having your blog suspended. http://en.support.wordpress.com/advertising/
  2. And, viewing your stats does not come with the territory of reviewing any product at all.

  Is this where you approached them to send you a pile of free stuff to review? and they are wondering if you have a “real” blog with real visitors or just a scammer looking for free stuff?

  Indeed it would be but I cannot imagine anyone approaching any company and asking to review their products. No permission is required to reach into your wallet and buy a product and then publish an honest review of your experience of using the product on your blog.

  Any arrangements between bloggers and companies must not only be within WordPress.com policies but must also be within the FTC requirements for posting relevant disclaimers re: declarations of consideration ie. either cash or kind. http://ftc.gov/opa/2009/10/endortest.shtm
