emails about password reset

    Today I received two emails, purportedly from WordPress, saying that an effort had been made to change my password. Instead of responding to the emails, I went directly to my WordPress editing location and changed my password. I would like to know if the emails came from WordPress or not. Thanks,

    Hi there,

    There were two password reset attempts on your account yesterday, which means someone entered your username or email address on the lost password form. But as long as no one else has access to your email account they would not have been able to use the password reset links we sent out.

    It’s good that you changed your WordPress.com password, but also change your email password, just in case someone managed to gain access to that.
