emails being sent via my account

  I am getting hundreds of undeliverable emails sent to my home account since opening this blog. I have changed my email password repeatedly to no avail.

  Please advise.

  Hi there,

  There are lots of factors that could be causing this problem, but I’m happy to help you investigate. Could you answer a couple more questions for me?

  It looks like you’ve had the site in question for 9 months. Has the e-mail problem been going on that whole time, or did it start more recently?

  What e-mail address do the e-mails say they are coming from? Note: You can post the e-mail address here and I’ll be able to see it, but it will be hidden from other forum viewers to help protect your privacy.

  Do you have your e-mail address posted on your site anywhere?

  Could you also take a screenshot of one of the e-mail headers and add it to your media library (don’t post a link here). Here are instructions for taking a screenshot:

  The good news is if changing your password isn’t making a difference it’s unlikely that your account is actually compromised. More likely is your e-mail address has been scraped from a site somewhere and is being spoofed.

  Hi Liz…thank you for responding. This started during Christmas. I marked many referrers as Spam and it stopped for some time. The last two days have been ridiculous.
  I am sure my email has been spoofed.
  I don’t think I have my email addy (email visible only to moderators and staff) on my site I will double check that.

  media library? Can you please explain further where you would like me to post that header?

  My gravatar has my email linked to it? Would that be the cause? Is there a way to not have gravatar and have wordpress?

  Unlinked Gravatar from account. My screen shot didn’t seem to work. Ugh…I’m so computer illiterate.

  all emails are from rambler.ru if that helps.

  Thanks for adding the image of the e-mail header to your media library. I was able to see it.

  I’ve looked at this and had a colleague review it with me. Someone does seem to be using your e-mail address as an alias for (email visible only to moderators and staff), but I don’t see any connection between that activity and your WordPress.com account.

  Have you talked to your e-mail provider? They might be able to help.

  Sorry I don’t have anything more definitive!
