Here (below) is another fake follower notice that I received today. They always seem to be from Outlook accounts. I hope this will stop soon.
By the way, these always come in via email, but I never get them via a notification within my WordPress account.

Yes. I had a spate of this back in January. Unfortunately it seems to be happening again

All the followers I’m getting are for my main site, https://persebek.wordpress.com
As they were the last time this happened. There’s a few spam comments too, but nothing out of the ordinary in terms of how much I get.

But when I go to My site >People>Email followers to delete the emails are not listed there.
This makes it more intriguing.

Hi. I have added the “Follow through email” widget to my blog, I noticed all the emails I am receiving are with @outlook.com, some of the names didnt seem real either. here is an example

Hello,
I am also bombarded with a lot of fake followers with @outlook.com email address. If I go to Insights tab, it shows me “36” Social followers whose names are not visible, but I continuously get emails that they are following my blog.
Should I be worried? Should I post all the spam emails here? -
fayandfay1 – Yes, this sounds like the spam that we are working on. It’s nothing but an annoyance though, your site is safe. Can you tell me if they are being caught in the spam filter? And if not, please mark them as such. Thanks!

Hi everyone,
As said earlier, (email visible only to moderators and staff) spoof-mails are just the mail messages you get in your Inbox and nothing more nowadays.
I am pretty suspect that these mails are targeting the Outlook.com since its Beta period (BTW, they are constantly improving).
So, I think a common workaround should be addressed.
On our side, the WP account owners, should inform these mails as scam.
Hoping to get rid of these…
