emails that I am now subscribed to my own blog
-
I have received several emails that are listed as being from davidjrogersftw, which say: Congratulations, you are now subscribed to the site davidjrogersftw (http://davidjrogersftw.com) and will receive an email notification when a new post is made.
Why is this happening?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That’s very strange. I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Hi there,
I confirmed that those emails came from WordPress.com — sorry about all those emails! Those are sent when you subscribe to follow your own blog. Did you recently subscribe and then unsubscribe from your blog using any of the methods mentioned on this page? Following Blogs
If not, we may have sent those emails by mistake. In that case, please let me know and I can check on that for you.

No, I did not subscribe and/or unsubscribe from my blog recently. Originally, I after I set up the blog, I did subscribe to it, I think, just to see what would come to subscribers. But since then I have not unsubscribed or resubscribed. The emails just seemed to come out of the blue. However, I am glad to know that the are from WordPress.com and not the result of something possibly harmful.

Hi there,
Thanks for letting me know. Indeed, those aren’t harmful emails, but I apologize for the concern they caused. I reported this to our team so they can investigate the bug or glitch in our system that sent them to you.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help!

Hello,
Thanks for reporting it to the team. Just FYI I received another one at 12:53 A.M. on Wednesday, Sept 10.

Hi there,
Our developer looked into this and it looks like it was just a glitch – it may have been caused by some network problems, but rest assured there was no bug.
Cheers!
-
Thank you for the information. It is still continuing, as recently as today. Is there any way to solve the problem?

I have a concern is that perhaps these messages are meant tell me that other people (other than myself) are following my blog, and I am not getting these messages. Also, I received more of these messages tonight. They seem to be becoming more frequent. So even though there was no “bug” the glitch is still there and still causing me to repeatedly get these messages. Can anything be done about it?
-
Hi David,
Sorry for the delay in response. Are you still receiving the confirmation messages? Please let me know and if so we’ll dig further in to this!
Thanks so much.

Hi David,
I just sent you an email to your address on file. Go ahead and check that and get back to me if you could!
-
I sent you an email recently regarding another one of these that I received on Sept. 29, and I forwarded that to you. Not sure if you received these messages from me.
-
Hi David,
No, we never did receive any forwarded message. Please reforward it if you have one!
-

-
I am forwarding it to you at “Ash – WordPress.com” <help@wordpress.com>
Is that the correct email address?
-
I just forwarded yet another one to you, received at 9:33 P.M. on 10/4/14.
Any success finding out what is causing this?
BTW, am I forwarding them correctly to you, or is the an email address other than Ash – WordPress.com” <help@wordpress.com> ?
-
Hiya,
Yes, I did indeed get those that you have forwarded. Thank you very much! I will review these and see what I can find. I’ll let you know as soon as I have any information for you.
Thanks!
