  I am the sponsor for our middle school newspaper. We would like to embed the blog in the schools webpage. Can you help me? Is there a code to embed it? Or can I just create a link

  you have two options:
  1) head over to http://wordpress.org, which is for self-hosted blogs, or
  2) pay $10 a month for the domain mapping upgrade

  You can just create a link to your wordpress.com blog from your website’s menu, provided that you don’t mind the blog URL to be different.

  You can use an iframe or an “include” (php scripting) to show the blog within a page on the school’s website, but this is a problematic solution and typically does not work cleanly.

  2) in raptortech’s reply would include setting up a subdomain on your school’s main domain name, and then mapping that subdomain to the wordpress.COM blog: http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/ .

  OK, the PHP scripting “include” thing is out according to devblog. He tried to post something here about it, but something went askew and now he can’t post in this thread anymore.

  The most foolproof thing to do is to include a link to the blog from the school’s website, or as suggested by raptortech, install wordpress on the school server and then transfer the blog over there.

  I am going to install wordpress on the server and then transfer the blog but just to be certain that would require an upgrade right?

  No, it wouldn’t have anything to do with the blog here. You don’t have to pay WP.com to get the software from WordPress.org and use it on your existing website.
