Embed a new blog into your another blog page?
-
So I have a question. I have a main blog that I use as my personal website, http://www.adamradkins.com . However, I was wondering if it was possible to embed a 2nd blog onto a page of the main blog. I want to create some frequent content to increase repeat viewing. The 2nd blog I just created is https://adkinspeanutgallery.wordpress.com and so far I just have a test post in there.
So to ask straight, is it possible to have a blog running on a separate page of another blog?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can create a custom menu on the first blog and/or visa versa.

You can add a custom link to the second blog into it and/or visa versa. -
Thanks for the quick response. That’s an option, but I was hoping to make it look like the blog is part of the original host site.
For example: http://jimcornette.com/now-tomato
If you see that site, it looks like the blog is actually a part of the site. When you go to read the blog, it doesn’t go to a separate page. Is there a possible embed code to do this, or is there a simpler way to go about this rather than creating a whole new 2nd blog?

Hi there,
Each blog at WordPress.com can only have one main blog section, but there are a couple ways I can think of to create the effect you’re looking for:
1. You can set up Category Pages on your site at adamradkins.com using two main categories. That way, posts in one category will show up on one page, and posts in another category will show up on another page.
If you’d like, you can also combine that with setting a static front page (instead of having all of your latest posts on the front page): Front Page
2. You can use a separate WordPress.com blog (like the new one you set up at adkinspeanutgallery.wordpress.com) and Map a Subdomain to that blog. For example, you could have your main site at adamradkins.com and the second blog at blog.adamradkins.com (or any other subdomain you’d like to use). If you use the same theme on both blogs and link between them in your menu, it can create a seamless link between the two for visitors to the site.
Please let me know if you have any questions about that. :)

Hi Rachel. Thanks for the suggestions. It looks like the best way for me to do this would be to take your suggestion on the Category Pages. I played around with it, and it looks like it might work out well. My question is if it’s possible to have a category hidden from the Latest Posts from the main page? So if I were to post in my mini-blog using a category, it wouldn’t appear as a general site update on the main page. Or would I have to add a new category for my past and future posts (say, Site Update or something) and create a separate Category Page with that term as my new home page?
Thanks for all your help so far, it’s much appreciated!

I’m glad you like the Category Pages. :) However, it isn’t possible to have a category hidden from your latest posts, and your front page can only be used to display either all of your latest posts or a static page (not a Category Page).
The only way I can think of to have just a subset of your posts appear on the front page is to use the Display Posts Shortcode on a static page, and then make that static page your front page. If all the posts you want on the front page are assigned a specific category, that shortcode can be used to list all of those posts on that page. However, it won’t end up looking the same as your regular latest posts page.
If you’re really going for a setup where you have one blog on your main page and a mini-blog on another page (where the posts from that mini-blog don’t show up on the main page), the most straightforward setup is probably the second option I mentioned. If you publish those posts to another blog and then cross-link them, it will make it easier to keep the two blogs separate.
