Embed a video in a scheduled wordpress post that hasn’t been published

    I’m scheduling wordpress posts in advance, and want to embed a video that hasn’t been published yet (it will be the day before the wordpress post is), as I have pre-scheduled videos on you. But the youtube video link won’t embed as it’s not published yet I think. Is there any way round this?

    Hi there,

    I tried to embed a video into my post and schedule it and it worked perfectly fine.

    I embedded the video using the embed block in the block editor and paste the URL of the video.

    If you are using the block editor, click on the + sign on the very top left corner and search for embed block. Copy and paste your URL in the box and click on embed.

    How did you try to embed the video (by URL/Shortcode/any other)?

    Hi Vinnykaur,
    Thanks for taking the time to reply. I did as you stated, and get the message ‘sorry this content could not be embedded, try again or embed as a link.’
    This is the video URL allocated to the video by YouTube – it’s private
    https://youtu.be/OW3Ly4lVQ-E and not due to be published until the 14th May.
    Any help gratefully received as this!

    Could you please share your website’s URL?
    Can you also explain the steps you followed to embed the video?
    The message says embed as a link . Did you try some other way to embed it like as a shortcode or something?

    Are you using the block editor or the classic editor?
    I recommend you switch to the block editor since it’s very easy there.

    Did you try this link in the embed block in the block editor?

    I tried embedding this link into my post and it was fine even if the video is unavailable for now.

    – See this screenshot on how to search for embed block in the block editor (https://prnt.sc/nn6ifs)

    – Click on the youtube embed and you’ll see a block like this ( See this screenshot)

    – Copy the URL and paste in there and click on embed.

    This will definitely embed the video.

    Please try the above and let us know how that goes.

    I tried using the classic editor and simply copying and pasting the URL of this video in the editor worked for me.

    If you are using the classic editor, you might want to try that as well.

    Thank you for the details. Now that I see your site is not hosted on WordPress.com. I should have asked for the website URL in the first place.
