Embed a ZooBurst storybook

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hello

    I am having trouble embedding a ZooBurst storybook into my blog. I clicked on the embed button after I completed the storybook and copied the code into the blog but it is not showing.
    I embeded a Voki quite easily but am having problems with the storybook.
    Please help as soon as you can as it is for an assignment due on Monday.
    I have had great advice from this forum before so am hoping this will be fixed easily as well.

    Thanks

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    As we cannot see the embed code for ZooBurst it’s difficult to tell you how to proceed. There are code restrictions here to preserve security as this is a multiuser blogging platform. If the ZooBurst code is for an video then you can try using vodpod. You can post just about any video to your WordPress.com blog using VodPod’s “Post to WordPress” button. http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/vodpod/

    Hi Timethief

    Thanks for the quick reply. I went to VodPod but couldn’t drag the bookmarklet button to my toolbar.

    This is the code for the Zooburst storybook.

    <object width=”800″ height=”522″><param name=”allowScriptAccess” value=”always” /><param name=”allowFullScreen” value=”true” /><param name=”src” value=”http://zooburst.media.s3.amazonaws.com/swf/viewer/zooburst_loader.swf?book_id=zb0_4de0e2fa09e9b” /><embed width=”800″ height=”522″ src=”http://zooburst.media.s3.amazonaws.com/swf/viewer/zooburst_loader.swf?book_id=zb0_4de0e2fa09e9b” allowFullScreen=”true” allowscriptaccess=”always”></embed></object>

    I did an forum search and discovered that .swf is not supported due to security reasons. Javascript, flash, iframes and forms are not allowed here due to security concerns. If you are wanting to post videos, then there are several that are supported, and with the vodpod button for Firefox, you can have videos here from nearly any source.

    Which browser and version of it are you using? Have you tried using Firefox 4.0?

    I tried converting the code above to a Gigya code (by following the instructions on Panos’ blog), but it says that “This is a private book” and that one must be signed in to view it. Is that right?

  • Unknown's avatar

    Yes it is. This is getting too hard for me! It took me 3 hours to create the storybook which isn’t that flash and it looked easy enough to embed, just hit the embed button and paste the code. If I had known I was going to have this much trouble I wouldn’t have wasted my time in creating the book!

    I can make the book public if that will help? I will then have another try once I get the assistance from someone who knows what to do. I had a look at that blog as well and it is way too complicated for me.

    Thanks

    I have made the book public.

    Yay, your book is public now :-)
    If you had trouble with VodPod, there is another way to embed Flash into a WP.com blog, as I explained earlier: the Gigya shortcode. You can copy and paste the following code (adjust the width and height if needed).
    [gigya width="800" height="522" src="http://zooburst.media.s3.amazonaws.com/swf/viewer/zooburst_loader.swf?book_id=zb0_4de0e2fa09e9b" allowFullScreen="true" allowscriptaccess="always"]

    Hi again

    I am having problems with embedding a tag cloud from Tagul. You helped me heaps last night I thought you may help me with this one.

    The code is

    <object width=”1″ height=”1″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” data=”http://cdn.tagul.com/cloud.swf”>
    <param name=”movie” value=”http://cdn.tagul.com/cloud.swf”/>
    <param name=”flashvars” value=”id=27569@1″/>
    <param name=”allowscriptaccess” value=”always”/>
    <param name=”swfversion” value=”10″/>
    <param name=”expressinstall” value=”http://cdn.tagul.com/expressInstall.swf”/>
    <param name=”wmode” value=”transparent”/>
    <embed src=”http://cdn.tagul.com/cloud.swf” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” allowscriptaccess=”always” wmode=”transparent” width=”1″ height=”1″ flashvars=”id=27569@1″></embed>
    </object>

    Thanks, but I am not very techno and those instructions are way too complicated for me! It is like a foreign language! How come I have no problem with wordle and tagxedo but can’t do the Tagul one?

  • Unknown's avatar

    @eveepeevee : Try this (adjust width and height of course)
    [gigya src="http://cdn.tagul.com/cloud.swf" allowscriptaccess="always" wmode="transparent" width="1" height="1" flashvars="id=27569@1"

    If that doesn’t work, there is another user that knows Tagul clouds a little more, so hopefully they will come take a look.

    Thanks, but it didn’t work. I have contacted Tagul but they haven’t got back to me, not as helpful with the help as you guys on this forum.

    I took the code airodyssey posted above and added a missing square bracket at the very end] I then changed the height and width and the tag cloud is displaying on my test blog.
