embed avi file in self hosted site post

  I am storing a media file in my upgraded blog space. (embededmicro.wordpress.com)
  The file is microslildes1.avi.
  I want to embed the video on my selfhosted site page (technoeschool.in).
  using [embed] url [/embed] fails and it shows only a link on published page.
  Earlier I stored a tangram.ogv file and embedded it using the above method. It works.
  What should I do?

  Hi prasadkb,

  To embed a video you uploaded to your blog here, you can use the VideoPress shortcode described on this page: VideoPress

  That shortcode looks something like this:

  [wpvideo w0MiG12E]

  You can find that shortcode by going to Media > Library in your blog’s dashboard. There, click the list icon to switch to your Media Library’s list view: https://cloudup.com/cYh3hEKefML

  Find the video you’d like to embed, hover over it in the list, and click the Edit link that appears. On that page you’ll find the video shortcode for embedding the video.
