Embed Blog within another web site
-
Hi
I operate a web site for the local running club. I was wanting people to see the blog on a particular page of my running club web site. How do I embed a WordPress blog into a page on my web site? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

There’s always iframes…
http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_iframe.asp
…but those are user unfriendly and a pain to work with.
I would just put a link to your WordPress.com blog in the same location as your links to other pages. Then on your WordPress blog I would put a link back to your separate site. That’ll let visitors easily move back and forth between the two.

Depending on the page you want your blog to appear on, you can also buy the domain mapping upgrade so it appears on a subdomain (like blog.yoursite.com) and then it will be nearly seamless.
Check here for more info: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-subdomain/
Just pick a theme that fits well with your overall site design.

I think Justjennifer gives a better solution,
but I will say that there use to be plugins for wordpress.ORG that would allow you to embed content via RSS from a wordpress.Com blog onto a page.
I see in done with the Simple-Pie plug in for WordPress.ORG.If you are using WordPress.ORG you might want to check their forum also.
just another option.

Well, linking to a WordPress.com blog and linking to a WordPress.com blog that’s using the domain mapping upgrade is really the same thing, just with different URL’s…
So, if the OP wants the WordPress.com blog to appear as as subdomain and doesn’t mind the 12 dollar per year cost, then that’s certainly an option.
If the separate site is already running WordPress, it would be easier to enable multisite and run the separate blog off a subdomain on the same sever rather than going through WordPress.com in the first place.

@bigbagel-Yes, and no. If the OP wants a WordPress.com blog to appear as a part of their site (an embed via an i-frame will still show up on their domain, no matter how badly it’s done), then mapping to a subdomain would still be the better option, in my opinion.
In any event, all this is thinking out loud. It would be good to know the URL of the actual website and the intended URL for the blog, no?

But…I didn’t suggest using an iframe. I suggested adding simple links between the two, which you would still need to do if you used the domain mapping upgrade.

Apologies to bigbagel,
I misspoken.
both your suggestions are good, I was trying to say my suggestion wasn’t the optimal,… just another option. -
