I have been managing a podcast with a friend for two years. I have never been able to make the audioboom embed code work in wordpress. The code is correct (I’ve tried the longform, non wordpress code too) and miltiple web browsers. The code isn’t hyperlinked and has been checked against your FAQ. Please help!

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi @adelethewalsh

I don’t know which plan you have with WordPress.com.

I assume that you either have Personal or Premium plan. With these two plans you can’t embed flash and other types of embed that use; frame, iframe, form, input, object, textarea are not allowed in WordPress.com posts, pages, or text widgets on the Premium Plan and below.

Read more about that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/code/#flash-and-other-embeds

I am also tagging this post as “modlook” for staff reference in case what is explained above does not apply to you. Please wait for some time they will get back to you on this.

    I hope this helps.

Hey there, do you still need help with this? Looking at your site unladylikepodcast.com I see the embeds there in FireFox Quantum 61. (temp screenshot)

Let us know if you have any further question.

Yes, I still need help. I have a post ready to go but in private mode (wihtout the embed working). I’ll make it live so you can see: https://unladylikepodcast.com/2018/07/01/24-on-world-building/

I’ve used the audioboom shortened code. It’s not hyperlinked on the backend and yet it’s publishing as hyperlinked but not embedded.

(When they have been successfully embedded it has been my co-host. We have a Premium plan.)

Thanks for the help! (My co-host is on holidays and I really, really don’t want to interrupt her time off.)

Hi there, that link is highlighted. If you look at it in the Visual Editor, if it is highlighted there, then use the UNLINK button to remove the active link.

Let us know how that goes.

Sorry! I just reread your post (pre-2nd cuppa this morning).

Can you open to edit any of the previous posts where there is an audioboom embed and have a look at how the code was added?

  • Unknown's avatar

Yep, it looks exactly the same.

    It’s baffling…

Hello again, Looking at the source code of your published post, the link text is hyperlinked.
    <p><a href="https://audioboom.com/posts/6916371-on-world-building-amie-kaufman-c-s-pacat" rel="nofollow">https://audioboom.com/posts/6916371-on-world-building-amie-kaufman-c-s-pacat</a></p>

So let’s wait until Staff look in on this thread.

  • Hi there,

Please enter the Audioboom link directly into the HTML editor. This way it won’t be hyperlinked as @justjennifer already explained.

I have already tried it on my test site and it works without any issues.
