Embed codes
-
Hello I am trying to put a an embed code – which I have got from facebook onto a post ….but it wont show….why not? I have learnt that WP no longer supports Vodpod which is what I used to use after being advised too, then upload it to You tube…but now I am completely stuck.
So…why doesnt the embed code show on my site….and is their a site that does what Vodpod did, ie find the embed video so you could then upload it to You tube…..?
Thank you very much in advance.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Ok…forgive me for asking this, but I have looked at the links above and not sure which one helps me…the below is the embed code from facebook so which of the above would help to upload it and then onto You Tube? I am confused. Thanks again.
<iframe src=”https://www.facebook.com/video/embed?video_id=10151239101311251″ width=”720″ height=”1280″ frameborder=”0″></iframe>

Sorry, @TimeTheif, forgot to mention…& unsure it will matter or not, it’s a mobile video embed code… Wasn’t sure that made a difference as an embed code is an embed code isn’t it?

Ok cheers, will they just see this post or what happens now… Rather stuck on this and the topic. Thanks.

We cannot use iframe codes for security reasons and that’s what the code is that you posted above is.
-
Oh right, it says when i click on it, ’embed code’…? So is there a site than does take embed codes ie “find videos” and you insert the embedded code and it finds the video like Vodpod used to do for WP?

Ok, no problem, thank you for tagging it for me, at least I know someone will know I still need help, didn’t know how it would’ve worked otherwise.
-
To be honest I believe the answer will be that you cannot embed it on a free hosted WordPress.com blog.
-
So I assume its not the same as a video embed code that you either could put on a post or used to be able too.

I know that the only videos that are supported by WordPress.com are the ones I linked to above in my first response to you.

Yeah those sites didn’t appear to be able to find videos with just the embed code as vodpod used to…. Those seem to ask for the videos themselves from like your albums/desktop etc not an embed code?

Hi there,
Vodpod was discontinued and is no longer available for WordPress.com blogs: Discontinued Third Party Services
As timethief mentioned, the embed code you posted uses iframes, which aren’t allowed on WordPress.com blogs for security reasons. You can read more about that here: Code
If you’d like to embed a video on your WordPress.com blog, you will need to upload it to one of the services mentioned on our Videos page or use the VideoPress upgrade to upload it directly to your WordPress.com blog.

Ok…well, I have no idea what an iframe is….do you know of any service that would upload it for me?

Really? I have actually looked on there, but nothing self explanatory to explain how….every time I go to upload it immediately takes me to my desktop if on my laptop and since I cannot download it there, the only thing i have is the code….so how would that work on You tube. If it does, I will be a very happy person!!
