If you don’t HAVE the file, you can’t upload the file to YOuTube, clearly. You will have to see if the original site provides a download link.

@raincoaster, ok, so what I’ve shown you isn’t the file?? All I have is the video which I share from his page on Facebook, if I click on something it says embed or report which is where I got the embed code from…
So what else do I need please – do I need to ask the person for anything.

Yes, you need to ask the person for the flash file. Facebook if I recall doesn’t let you download their videos. If he sends you the video file, as Flash, you can upload it to YouTube IF you have a youtube account and his permission, and then you can embed it in your blog.

@raincoaster, right, thank you for that advice…no, I have tried ALL WAYS to download it but nothing to allow me or to say ‘download file’
Yes I have a You Tube account, so I need to msg him and ask him for his video as Flash do i? Ok….I am assuming unlike me, he will know what you are talking about? 😄WHy I asked that is I personally have no idea of what that means….but then I am not totally technically minded (as you will have noticed!! 😉☺

OK. update: would it work if he sends it to my phone….or would it need to be sent to a email address….I have no idea hence my asking for advice.

It needs to be sent to an email address. It’s theoretically possible to do it via phone, but unneccessarily complicated. And he can’t just send you the LINK, remember; he has to send you the actual video file.

Right, thank you for that @raincoaster, that’s why i waited to ask you, as I wasn’t 100% sure…
Can I ask – more out of curiosity than anything else, why it would be complicated by phone…presumed once I got the file, i would then go into ‘Capture’ (The app for uploading to YT) and then do it that way?

I’m not going to answer theoretical questions that have highly detailed answers. Not for free. I’m just trying to help you get the video on your blog in the simplest way possible. If you want to discuss complicated ways to do that, I’m happy to charge you for it: $200 an hour.

Well its worked, but to be honest, it sounded like what I asked you initially was correct given your responce, and while I appreciate your help, I certainly wouldn’t pay you for it especially since I appear to know already…is that the going rate for charging people, I may have to try that then!
Anyway its worked perfectly and been uploaded, so this topic can now be closed thanks. -
