embed googlemaps
-
MyMaps Plus (www.mymapsplus.com) offer a service where you make a map on googlemaps then they generate the source code so you can (theoretically) embed in any blog or website. I could do this (very easily) on Blogger … why doesnt it work on WordPress?

Because javascript is stripped out of WordPress.com blogs, for security reasons. You can use the Platial Mapkit widget to so the same kind of thing.
We share the backbone of our blogs here, so security has to be much, much tighter than at Blogger; a vulnerability introduced by one person would affect everyone on that same template.

I note you have tagged this thread with “source code” and that you refer to coming from Blogger. Before this issue arises again please be aware that because this is a multiuser blogging platform (as raincoaster has described) we do not have access to our underlying templates here. Wp.com bloggers cannot access or edit source code.
