Embed Instagram Timeline Gallery into a page
-
Hi!
Is it possible to embed my instagram timeline in a gallery-like fashion (using something like Websta Widgets) into a page on my WordPress.com site?
Thanks in advance!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The best option is the Instagram widget. Try adding that to your sidebar and then if you want to make any styling changes with CSS let me know what you’d like to do and I will take a look.

Hi hallluke!
Thanks for the reply!
But what I’d really like to do is implement the Instagram gallery in my “Photos” page. But only on that page, as if it’s apart of the page itself. I’d like to replace the default wordpress gallery with the Instagram gallery, so that people can interact socially with my photos on that level. The widget will just appear on the sidebar, and on every page, right?

Yeah, the widget is just for sidebars/footers depending on your theme. It won’t work in the main content area of a post or page.
I’m not sure there’s a way for you to achieve what you want, sorry.

Yeah, at least, not through regular embedding, anyway. : But thank you for the info!
I just found out about something called “oEmbed”. Can you tell me if it works with WordPress.com?

Edit: I also found out that there’s a way to convert iframe code into gigya. The website I was going to use to display my Instagram profile is Snap Widget (https://snapwidget.com/embed/232796)
Do you know how I can convert the iframe to gigya short code?
Here’s the iframe of the Snap Widget:
<!– SnapWidget –>
<iframe src=”https://snapwidget.com/embed/232796″ class=”snapwidget-widget” allowTransparency=”true” frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no” style=”border:none; overflow:hidden; width:795px; height:795px”></iframe> -
The gigya shortcode isn’t supported and I can’t find a way to make it work with the link you provided. Most methods of embedding external content aren’t allowed due to security risks. As WordPress.com is one big shared platform if one site introduces a risk it could potentially affect all the others.

I’d suggest just picking a handful of your favourite images and including them in a gallery with a link to your Instagram profile. That gives your visitors a taste of what they can find and then they can click through for more snaps if they’re interested. Even just the social links you have in your header might be enough.
