Embed ISSUU problem – mobile friendly (responsive width)
-
Hello,
I would like to embed my ISSUU publications on my WP-site.
I would like to have them responsive (mobile friendly)
The problem is that my wordpress site does not accept the code I get from issuu for responsive size.
If I paste the URL for my publication directly, it appears on my website, but not mobile friendly.
Is there a CSS or HTML code I can add to the URL to make it work properly?
What can I do?
You can view the problem on my post:TAK and the Sweater for Any Kind of Weather – Icelandic and English
Kind regards,

Hi there, I don’t currently see the ISSUU embed on your above post. Can you add it back to your post and/or paste the code you received from ISSUU here between
CODEtags? Thanks -
Hello,
I found out that ISSUU embeds (responsive width) is not allowed on my WP site.
Here is the embed code from ISSUU//e.issuu.com/embed.js -
Hello again,
I just copied/pasted the Responsive width code from ISSUU
When posting the Issuu embed code, wordpress automatically deletes part of the code, so it cannot be viewed on WP.
Kind regards -
Hello again, yes, it looks like it contains javascript, which is only allowed under the business/ecommerce upgrade plans.
Did you try embedding with this guide: https://en.support.wordpress.com/issuu-embeds/

I tried this
The only solution to have responsive width (mobile friendly) embeds, would be to upgrade to business plan ?
Kind regards,
Hjalti -
You’d need to upgrade in order to use javascript.
As far as I know, the oembed method (of pasting the URL of the ezine on its own line without linking it) should resize the ezine according to the device it is viewed on.
If you haven’t yet, can you please embed one of the Issuu ezines (in English) back to your post and I’ll take a look on my Android phone and iPad mini. Thanks.

Hello,
I pasted the URL of an ISSUU ezine toTAK and the Sweater for Any Kind of Weather – Icelandic and English
How does it appear on a smart phone?
Kind regards,
Hjalti -
Hello again, I embedded your link in a test post using both the Classic Editor and the new Block Editor. Only when I click on the “Full size” button in the Issuu screen does the ezine resize to fit my mobile devices. Otherwise it is indeed too large.
I did find this earlier forum reply from Staff that addresses this: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/issuu-reader-too-big/#post-3183282
I’ve also tagged this thread for Staff attention to see if there is any update. Thanks for your patience while they get back to you.

Hi there,
The information I gave in the previous thread @justjennifer linked to still stands. ISSUU doesn’t offer an option to control the width of the embed, so it won’t be responsive on smaller screens.
The CSS workaround in the other thread is currently the only way around this, and using that will require our Premium Plan.
