Embed link in a few words to keep from posting entire URL

  I have seen other blogs on wordpress that have the links to articles or web sites embedded in just a word or a few words written into the article. I cannot find anywhere is support on how to link the URL into the blog post other than posting the entire URL in a separate sentence or paragraph in my post.
  Your help with this will help me to make my blog look more professional.
